O-Day is on

- I liked the MU’s “solve countdown challenge, get free chocolate” thing — can we do something similar?
1.2.2 Other stuff
- Printed stuff, see 2
1.3 Standardise the O-Day process
Create numbered signs around the room museum-style to direct freshers around (except for Account
)
Also distribute to door members as a hey, if you’re looking for things to point
out to freshers: here are so ideas kind of thing.
- Account (just do, no need to label)
- Dispense/coke machine
- Machine Room
- Tool cupboard, projects bench
- 3D printer
- Upcoming events
- Wifi
- Webcams (they’re for security, and ’is room open’ check)
- Door, computer use priorities
- People to talk to when computer issues
- Fresher welcome + other near events
Eggman
, it’s cool!
1.4 Run the projector, have stuff up
- Upcomming UCC Events
- The big general Cameron Hall events
- Cool things you can do at UCC
1.5 Make good use of whiteboard, write up events
1.6 Write in chalk ways to Cameron Hall
- Arrows on walls
- Footsteps on ground
3 Things to keep in mind O-Week
- Need people in the clubroom who will jump up and welcome new freshers, we need first impressions to be great to retain those who wander in. Quite often it can be lukewarm. Not O-Day.
3.1 Posters
- It seems like a nice idea to try to put some posters out. This seems like one of the few occasions in the year when they’ll actually get attention.
3.2 Lecture invading
- Could be a good idea to do that aggressive 1st year lecture targeting
- Seems reasonable to think that a bunch of people don’t really turn up to O-Day, missed out tent, etc.
